Liwan Museum, established in December 1996, is a district-level museum primarily dedicated to the collection, exhibition, and research of the historical culture and local customs of the Liwan region. The museum currently features three main exhibition areas:
The first exhibition area is the former residence of Chen Lian Zhong, a cultural heritage site in Guangzhou City, which houses a fine collection display and a temporary exhibition hall; The second exhibition area is the XiGuan Folk Museum, built on the reconstructed XiGuan Mansion, which recreates the architectural style and home scenes of the old mansion from layout, facade treatment, architectural design, and interior decoration; The third exhibition area is the former residence of Jiang Guangnai, a cultural heritage site in Guangzhou City, which showcases the early revolutionary career of the famous anti-Japanese general Jiang Guangnai and his significant contributions to China’s national democratic revolution and socialist construction in later years. Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:00 all year round; closed all day on Mondays; and during National Day, 09:00-17:30.
