Jinyu Hutong is located in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It starts from Dongdan North Street in the east and ends at Wangfujing Street in the west. The hutong is 567 meters long and wider than ordinary hutongs, which can be regarded as a road.
Since 1988, there have been more hotels and guesthouses in Jinyu Hutong. The famous Donglaishun Restaurant, CITS Tower, The Peninsula Beijing, Peace Hotel, and Taiwan Hotel are all on this street. Therefore, it is called ‘Hotel Hutong’. There used to be the mansion of Na Tong, a grand scholar in the late Qing Dynasty, commonly known as the Na Family Garden. Later, due to the expansion of the Peace Hotel (Novotel Peace Hotel) and the Peninsula Beijing (formerly Peninsula Hotel), half of Jinyu Hutong was demolished, and the Na Family Garden was also demolished. Today, Jinyu Hutong has a wide road. There are high-rise buildings on both sides of the street. The west entrance is connected to Wangfujing Street. It is bustling and prosperous.
