The retired destroyer scenic area is located in Weihai City, a beautiful coastal city in Shandong Province. It is now docked on the west side of Liugong Island Passenger Transport Center. It is a destroyer independently designed and built by China. Having served for 36 years, it has made indelible contributions to safeguarding the security of the motherland’s territorial waters and is of milestone significance in the history of Chinese warship construction. The ship started laying the keel at Zhonghua Shipyard in June 1979, was launched in September 1981, and was officially completed and commissioned into the Beihai Fleet on December 26, 1984, with the hull number 110. The ship is 132 meters long, 12.8 meters wide, has a draft of 4.6 meters, a speed of 36 knots, a cruising range of 2970 nautical miles, and a full-load displacement of 3670 tons. During its 36 years of service, this destroyer has won many honors in various exercises and escorts. It has been rated as an advanced unit in grass-roots construction by superior authorities many times and has won a collective second-class merit once. In 1986, it received the US naval delegation’s visit to China as the flagship of the Beihai Fleet. In 1988, it participated in military operations in the South China Sea and participated in the grand naval parade on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Navy, writing a colorful chapter in the process of the development and growth of the People’s Navy. In May 2019, this destroyer was honorably retired and the flag was lowered. In September 2020, it was docked on the west side of the passenger transport center of Liugong Island in Weihai and has been continuously docked. Since April 23, 2021.
