Xia Garden in Weihai Huaxia City skillfully integrates the essence of ancient architecture from both the north and south, embodying a rich Eastern classical architectural beauty, which is further merged with modern fashionable design elements.
The entire Xia Garden is divided into two parts: the water landscape and the Jiaodong Folk Culture Exhibition Area. The water landscape is a creative integration of land structures with water bodies, taking full advantage of the low-lying areas to create scenic views, resulting in a water charm that rivals the renowned Jiangnan region. The Jiaodong Folk Culture Exhibition Area is one of the distinctive attractions within Huaxia City. The exhibition, themed around the lives of the Ming Dynasty minister Xia Yuanji and the Weihai Xia family’s ancestor Xia Xian, vividly and interestingly showcases the daily life of the people of Jiaodong and the historical changes of Jiaodong through the use of wax figures, lighting, sound, and physical objects. Life scenes such as weddings, sea rituals, and threshing floors are vividly displayed, fully exhibiting the local folk customs of Jiaodong and the diligence and wisdom of its working people.Xia Garden: A Fusion of Ancient and Modern
