Dahei Mountain Island is located at the westernmost part of Changdao County, known as the ‘Fairy Mountain on the Sea’ in Northern China, which is an ecological tourism and vacation island. The total area of the island and its connected land is 8.54 square kilometers, with a coastline that stretches to 20.02 kilometers. The island currently has only 1500 residents and still preserves the original village form and the living conditions of the 1980s. It boasts textbook-level quartzite formations known as the ‘Continental Islands’ in China and scientific research-level sea-eroded caves. The island is rich in historical and cultural relics, containing traces of ancient and unique Chinese civilization, and is referred to by archaeologists as China’s ‘Eastern Banpo’, a rare ‘Museum on the Sea’ both domestically and internationally. Dahei Mountain Island has a national bird banding protection station, with a forest coverage rate as high as 80%, making it an important habitat for birds migrating north and south in China. Over 200 species of birds, amounting to hundreds of thousands, stop and migrate through this area each year, with raptor banding and release accounting for more than 70% of the national total, earning it the title ‘China’s First Island for Raptor Banding and Release’. The island’s marine resources are also very abundant, producing dozens of species of fish and shrimp, as well as over 100 species of algae and more than 20 species of shellfish. Since the entire sea area has not been developed, one can still taste truly wild, pollution-free, and authentic seafood delicacies to this day.

Ticket collection guide: Ferry tickets can be collected at the ticket hall of Penglai Pengchang Port Passenger Port, Longzhua Mountain National Geopark tickets can be collected at the visitor service center opposite Dahei Mountain Port.
Tour guide: After arriving at Dahei Mountain Island, you can take the scenic area shuttle bus to Longzhua Mountain National Geopark, passing by the Beizhuang Site scenic spot.
Warm reminder: 1. Sea route products are greatly affected by weather. It is not possible to sail normally when the sea surface wind exceeds level 7 or visibility is low. Please pay attention to the weather in Changdao before traveling. 2. During the peak tourist season in July and August and national designated holidays, there may be a tight reception capacity. If you plan to travel, please plan your route in advance and consult with the scenic area staff by phone. 3. Dahei Mountain Island is a pristine island, so please prepare for sun protection and mosquito prevention in advance during the summer. There are many cliffs and steep walls in the scenic area, so please do not climb them privately.
