Lingshan Grand Canyon Tourist Scenic Area is located in Guangde County, Anhui Province, at the junction of the Huangshan and Tianmu Mountain ranges.
The scenic area consists of five major tourist functional areas: the Lingshang Gorge Exploration Area, Lingshang Temple Buddhist Cultural Area, Qingmeizhuang Leisure Area, Wei Village Folklore Experience Area, and Zhuhai Water City Resort Area. The Lingshan Grand Canyon features long streams, steep peaks, hanging waterfalls, and various strange rocks scattered throughout. It boasts 72 scenic spots, including Yunjin Waterfall, Caiyun Stream, Sanlian Waterfall, Xiangshui Pond, and Shengtutuo Jing. There is also the ancient Lingshang Temple, which is as famous as Lingyin Temple and is known as a Buddhist holy land, originally built during the Sui and Tang dynasties. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, in the form of Prince Jin Qiaojue, and Dharma Master Da Hui Zonggao of Dingguang Buddha successively meditated and practiced here, and the temple still flourishes with worshippers today. The Lingshang Scenic Area is enchanting, integrating mountains, water, rocks, waterfalls, temples, forests, and caves, and has been favored by literati and tourists since ancient times. It was once known as ‘Lingshang Springs and Stones are the best in the region’. Song Dynasty politician and literary figure Fan Zhongyan visited here and highly praised it as ‘South has Lingshang, North has Datong (Tai Chi Cave)’.
