Changgu Dongtian, known as the ‘Little Mountain Gorge’, has long been a vital trade route in Jiangnan and a crucial pass connecting the Eastern and Western Tianmu Mountains. Historically, it has been a battleground for military forces. The area boasts dense forests, clear springs, enchanting waterfalls, and beautiful pools, making it a world of water, waterfalls, and a paradise for love and leisure. According to legend, during the Tang Dynasty, hundreds of martial arts experts gathered at the ‘Longtan Waterfall’ within Changgu Dongtian to exchange skills. Suddenly, a beautiful young woman accidentally slid down the waterfall while cutting wood with her father. A gallant martial artist swiftly rescued her, and their love story began, leading to a marriage blessed by the warriors. They were said to be deeply in love, often bathing together in the second pool, which later became known as ‘Yuanyang Pool’. Hence, Changgu Dongtian is also referred to as the ‘Valley of Love, Dragon’s Waterfall’.
