The Chaohu National Key Scenic Area spans approximately 1586 square kilometers, including 783 square kilometers of water surface, encompassing two districts (Baohe District and Juchao District) and three counties (Feidong County, Feixi County, and Lujiang County) across Hefei and Chaohu cities, with twenty townships. Approximately two-thirds of the water area is under the jurisdiction of Chaohu City in Anhui Province. Within the lake, there are two islands, Gu Mountain and Lao Mountain. Around the lake, there are three major hot springs: Ban Tang, Xiang Quan, and Tang Chi, as well as national forest parks such as Taihu Mountain, Ye Fu Mountain, and Tianjing Mountain, and five major karst caves: Xianren, Ziwei, Wang Qiao, Hua Yang, and Boshan.
