Jixi Ziyuan Scenic Area is located in Shangmashi Village, east of Jixi County, and is a necessary path to Longchuan Scenic Area, covering an area of over 10,000 square meters. The garden takes advantage of the mountains for scenery and the water for nourishment, combining the tranquility of the mountains with the dynamism of the water, integrating nature and culture into one, and gathering the essence of the ancient Huizhou residential architecture from the Ming and Qing dynasties. It also creates a strong historical atmosphere with its unique clan consciousness, regional style, and artistic modeling.

Upon entering JiXi Ziyuan, one sees residential buildings scattered like stars in a chessboard pattern, with distant views of whitewashed walls and black tiles, shaded by pine and maple trees, and houses lined up like a city wall. The visually striking scenery, the soul-stirring stepped horse-head walls, and the meaningful quiet alleys are all part of these ancient residential buildings that blend the landscape and humanistic virtues into one, becoming a beautiful landscape that showcases the inner world of the Huizhou people and a microcosm of the six-hundred-year-old Huizhou settlement culture!
