Liao Yuan has been learning Chinese calligraphy and painting since childhood. In college, he received systematic art education. He has been engaged in creation using ink and wash, a unique medium, for as long as 30 years. His educational background and past experiences have made him deeply understand the characteristics of water and ink in Chinese ink and wash. Long-term practice has formed his unique creative way. In recent creations, based on the contemporary transformation of traditional aesthetic concepts, this transformation emphasizes more contemporary visual texture and form.
