In addition to these scenic spots, the Sea God Temple on Chunxi Road is also worth seeing. There are many legends about the Sea God Temple. What is impressive is the colored paintings on the beams and columns. The stone lions at the entrance are also antiques. Jin Yong Academy is also nearby. The poem ‘Flying snow shoots the white deer in succession, laughing and writing about chivalrous heroes leaning on the blue and white mandarin ducks’ completely records Mr. Jin Yong’s 15 works. The academy was also laid by Mr. Jin Yong himself. The architecture and exhibitions reflect the feelings of chivalrous men. Appreciate martial arts on the corridor murals, talk about the Jianghu in the Shujian Hall, read Jin Yong in the library, and watch the wind and clouds on the Wangyun Pavilion. Another paid scenic spot, the former residence of Wang Guowei, is a little far from other scenic spots and is a place for knowledge exploration in the academic field. The former residence was built by Wang Guowei’s father, Wang Naiyu, when Wang Guowei was nine years old. At that time, it was named ‘Yule Cottage’. Wang Guowei, the ‘master of Chinese studies’, spent twelve years of his youth here. Later, he still came back to stay for a short time every year. Wang Guowei called it ‘the small house in the west city’. There are some biographical materials of Wang Guowei displayed inside, and the location is not easy to find. In addition, what cannot be missed is the Confucian Temple and School Palace, which covers an area of more than 12,800 square meters. It can be divided into three parts: the front guide, the left school, and the right temple. The front guide part includes the screen wall, the泮 pool, the Kuixing Pavilion, the Memorial Arch for Filial Piety and Chastity, etc.; the left school part includes the Confucianism Gate, the Ritual Gate, the Minglun Hall, the Jingyi Pavilion and the Zunjing Pavilion, etc. ; the right temple part includes the Lingxing Gate, the Dacheng Gate, the Dacheng Hall and the Chongsheng Memorial Temple, etc. This is an important display place for Confucian academics and ancient education, and it also combines the display of local culture in Haining. Turn left at the intersection of Renmin Road and walk to the end to reach the Guanchao Resort Park. There are several tide viewing spots in the park, as well as ancient sites such as the Zhan’ao Tower and the tide viewing platform, and some exhibitions. The custom of watching the tide of the Qiantang River has a history of more than 2,000 years. Nowadays, the three tide viewing spots of Dakou, Yanguan and Laoyancang are particularly famous. The Guanchao Resort Park is a good place to see the ‘first line tide’. Usually around the 1st and 15th of the lunar month, the tide head will appear here as a white water line and rush towards the embankment at an astonishing speed.
