Dayu Mountain National Forest Park is located in the western part of Suzhou Ancient City, divided into two main scenic areas: Dayu Mountain Scenic Area and Botanical Garden Scenic Area. Here, you can appreciate natural ecological scenery and experience religious culture.
Dayu Mountain Scenic Area, the eastern part of Dayu Mountain National Forest Park, was originally built during the Eastern Jin Dynasty and has a history of over a thousand years. It is built against the mountain rock with exquisite design, once known as the ‘Suspended Temple’ in ancient times. Visitors can walk along the Ming Dynasty ancient road, climb to the Ban Shan Pavilion to enjoy the enchanting views, or go to the Wenshu Hall to pray sincerely and feel the profound Buddhist culture here.
The Botanical Garden Scenic Area, the western part of Dayu Mountain National Forest Park, is a specialized botanical garden in Suzhou with high ornamental value. It features rare and endangered plants such as Metasequoia, Dalbergia odorifera, and Japanese Podocarpus, as well as over 400 types of simulated flora and fauna specimens.
Opening hours: 01/01-07/07 09:00-16:30; 07/08-10/06 09:00-23:00; 10/07-12/31 09:00-16:30, with preferential policies for night visits after 16:30.
Preferential Policies: Children aged 6 (excluding) to 18 (including) enjoy half price; children aged 6 (including) or under 1.4 meters (including) in height enter for free with valid identification. Full-time university undergraduate and below students enjoy half price. Elderly aged 60 (including) to 70 (excluding) enjoy half price; those aged 70 (including) and above enter for free with a valid ‘Senior Citizen Card’ or ID. Active-duty military personnel and retired military officers enter for free with valid military identification. Disabled persons enter for free with a ‘Disability Certificate’, and one accompanying caregiver for severely disabled persons enters for free with valid identification.
