The China Vinegar Culture Museum is located in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, known as the ‘Vinegar Capital of China’. It is invested and constructed by the time-honored Hengshun Group, making it the only industrial tourism museum in China that integrates the protection of intangible cultural heritage and national industrial heritage. It is also a national 4A-level tourist attraction.
The museum, with an exhibition area of over 8000 square meters, consists of several pavilions including the Hengshun Factory History Hall, Vinegar History Hall, Vinegar Workshop, Sauce Garden, Wine Sea, Sanyou Hall, and Modern Technology Hall, providing a comprehensive and systematic overview of the historical development of China’s vinegar industry and vinegar culture.
Particularly in the Vinegar Workshop, the traditional vinegar-making process, which involves ‘making wine before vinegar and transforming wine into vinegar over twenty-one days,’ is fully preserved, earning the title of ‘Living National Industrial Heritage.’
The entire museum area fully embodies the local characteristics of Jiangnan, with a harmonious blend of small bridges, flowing water, pavilions, and blooming flowers throughout the seasons. The traditional sauce garden complements the modern, spectacular factory, recreating the historical charm of the ‘Hengshun Hundred Flowers Hall.’ Integrating history, culture, industrial heritage, and science education, the China Vinegar Culture Museum, with its knowledge, interest, and experience, awaits your visit!
Opening hours: 09:00-17:00 all year round.
