Yuehu Sculpture Park is located adjacent to Dong She Shan Park and Happy Valley. The park features a large artificial lake known as Yuehu. The park is expansive and offers a beautiful environment, with various sculptures displayed throughout. Visitors can also enjoy award-winning paintings and sculptures at the Yuehu Art Museum.
Covered with evergreen lawns suitable for all seasons, the park is an ideal spot for families to play with their pets, making it a popular pet-friendly destination in Shanghai. Centered around Yuehu, the park showcases over sixty sculptures along its lakeshore, divided into four themed areas representing the four seasons, each with unique scenery.
If you tire from walking, park shuttles run every fifteen minutes, stopping at stations representing each of the four seasons. The park also houses restaurants and cafes, where you can sip coffee and enjoy the view, though prices are on the higher side.
The Spring Bank consists of a water curtain bridge, visitor center, stalactite cave, and a water stage. The stalactite cave restroom is particularly interesting, resembling an actual cave with faucets designed to look like stalactites. The Summer Bank features a water-friendly sand area, a children’s smart activity square, and a carnival amusement area, providing an excellent place for children to play in the artificial beach and shallow water areas, and to dig in the sand with their own toys. A number of large banyan trees, a mix of real and artificial, are another highlight of the Summer Bank, with viewing platforms on the trees offering a great spot to enjoy the park’s scenery.
The Autumn Bank is a vast lawn area, home to the Qiuyue Restaurant and Yuehu Art Museum, which frequently hosts series of painting exhibitions, art displays, and large car shows, often featuring award-winning art pieces from around the world. The Winter Bank offers a continuous lakeside walkway with beautiful pavilions and a dazzling, ever-changing musical fountain show.
