Rodin Art Center Exhibition

The grand opening exhibition of the Rodin Art Center (Shanghai), meticulously organized by Shanghai Pudong New Area, titled ‘Rodin: The Inception of Modern Sculpture,’ will officially debut on September 28, 2024. The exhibition encompasses six main sections and two special sections, gathering 106 pieces of artwork including sculptures, paintings, ceramics, and images, all of which are original works. Among them are national treasures from the Rodin Museum in France, such as ‘The Thinker,’ ‘The Age of Bronze,’ ‘Eve,’ ‘Balzac,’ and ‘The Burghers of Calais,’ which are highly influential and representative in the art of sculpture. Authorized by the Rodin Museum in France and owning the collection rights, the Rodin Art Center (Shanghai) is a self-operating cultural institution located in the former French Pavilion of the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Park, positioning itself as a high-end cultural leisure complex. As a teaching practice base for the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, the center is committed to providing high-quality cultural services to the public through hosting museum-level exhibitions of artifacts from both China and abroad, forums, seminars, and lectures, meeting the cultural needs of Shanghai citizens for a better life. The main building of the center, designed by the renowned French architect Jacques Ferrier for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo French Pavilion, covers an area of over 8,000 square meters, with an exhibition space of 4,200 square meters. Its unique architectural structure allows visitors to enter the venue from all sides, bringing art closer to the public and creating an open, connected, and warm cultural and artistic center. Opening hours are all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00-18:00; closed all day on Mondays.
