Wucun is located beside the Xizha scenic area of Wuzhen. It is an ancient historical village standing close to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. There are still ruins of the canal sluice and two typical bays of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal – Wangjin Bay (located at the place where Wangjinli leads to Wucun) and Wucun Bay (located at the place where Wucun passes Wangfan Bridge). Wucun is equipped with hotels, homestays, catering, entertainment and landscapes. On the basis of completely retaining the traces of the natural village over the years, it presents a modern ideal secluded place in rural China. Rene Liu’s ‘A Time to Remember’ was filmed here. Here, you can also experience ‘life in Wucun’: cooking wildfire meals, making scarecrows, flying kites on ridges, weaving rattan and grass, peasant paintings, origami, etc., and fully experience the daily life of people working in Wucun. The homestays in Wucun are also very distinctive. Mainly independent courtyards, they are all renovated on the basis of old houses.
