Located in Nianbang Village, Yangcheng Lake Town, Xiangcheng District, Suzhou City. It is adjacent to Yangcheng Lake on the east, and the Guanjing River flows behind the temple. The temple is surrounded by water on three sides. Inside the temple, there are long corridors and waterside pavilions. The scenery is beautiful. It is the only temple with the architectural style of the northern school in the Yangtze River Delta region. The temple was originally built in the middle of the Tang Dynasty and was originally named Jishan Nunnery. At that time, the incense was prosperous, and pilgrims were all over the Jiangnan area. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, this nunnery was renamed ‘Wanglu Nunnery’, which means that there were officials and nobles who had stayed here. Therefore, there are still the names of Guanjing Bridge and Guanjing River. Later, it is said that Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty went down to the south of the Yangtze River to look for his father and stayed here for one night. So it was renamed ‘Huangluo Nunnery’. Huangluo Buddhist Temple is a famous Buddhist resort in Suzhou and also the location of the Suzhou Buddhist Association. It has a long and ancient cultural history and is an ideal place for religious activities and tourism and leisure.
