Suzhou Sports Center is located at No. 183 Sanxiang Road, Suzhou, at the southern foot of the Shishan Bridge in the old city area, bordering the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal to the west, adjacent to the canal pump station to the east, along the canal tributary – Lishuangqiao River to the south, and backed by the main urban traffic artery – Sanxiang Road to the north. A planned urban artery – West Ring Road, crosses through the middle. It is a large-scale comprehensive public building invested and constructed by the Suzhou Sports Committee.
The architectural scale is grand and spectacular, with a very superior geographical environment. The water and land transportation is highly accessible, the communication network is interlaced, the green coverage is continuous and shady, the cultural atmosphere is fresh and rich, the artistic sculptures are elegant and diverse, the sports culture facilities are complete, and the supporting services are abundant. The commercial, logistics, and human flows are concentrated. Divided by the West Ring Road, the eastern part is the gymnasium area, with a construction area of 42,627 square meters, featuring a 6,000-seat international standard gymnasium with a four-story main building, a two-story annex, and partial three-story structures. The western part is the stadium area, with a construction area of 28,548 square meters, featuring a 35,000-seat stadium, an 8x400m track, and a standard football field. The two areas are connected by two pedestrian overpasses, integrating the sports facilities into a single entity. To the east of the stadium is the fitness area, with a construction area of 41,000 square meters, offering 20 types of activities including swimming, badminton, squash, shooting, rock climbing, chess, fitness, leisure sauna, physical fitness testing, fitness guidance, and sports culture. The basement level features a large supermarket of international brand, and the rooftop platform adds coffee bars, darts, and other activities.
