Kui Xu Shu Cang Building is located between Jia Xuan Garden and Xia Garden, originally constructed in 1935 with European architectural style. The building consists of two stories, facing the grand Daming Lake to the north. Its structure is shaped like the character ‘mountain’ in Chinese, and it is connected to the rear by a corridor, integrating seamlessly with Xia Garden in terms of space. It is a provincially protected cultural relic. The four characters ‘Kui Xu Shu Cang’ were personally inscribed by Fu Zengxiang, the Minister of Education, which signifies ‘Kui star governs Qi, Xu star governs Lu, Kui Xu represents the boundary between Qi and Lu.’ This place was also the site where the Japanese army surrendered after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. The opening hours are closed all day on Mondays; open from 08:30 to 19:00 on Tuesdays to Sundays, closed on Mondays (except for legal holidays).
