In the past, this street was generally known as ‘Xinpu Street’ or ‘Xinpu Avenue’. It is the birthplace of Xinpu District, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province. It is one of the four old streets in the historical development and changes of Lianyungang City. In the 1920s and 1930s, business here was prosperous and bustling.
