Chun Gui Fang is located east of Xinfang Bridge and west of Yuanfeng Bridge. There is a beautiful story. In 1103 AD, during the second year of Chongning in the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhang Yanzhi and his son Zhang Shou who lived here were both on the same list of successful candidates. Six years later, Zhang Zai, Zhang Huan, and Zhang Yu, three brothers, were also admitted as Jinshi in the same imperial examination.
Five members of the father and sons were on the list of successful candidates, which brought great honor to the local people. Xu Shen, the prefect of Changzhou, built the Chun Gui Fang archway to commend them. At present, Chun Gui Fang is a small alley in Changzhou.
