The Han Hou Fishing Platform is situated on the eastern side of the ancient canal in the northwest corner of Huai’an city, and was originally constructed during the Ming Dynasty’s Wanli period. The platform has a rectangular base and stands over ten feet high. According to legend, when Han Xin was young and his family was impoverished, he often fished here and sold the fish to make a living. In commemoration of him, a platform was built on this site.
On the southern side of the fishing platform, there is also an imperial stele from Emperor Qianlong, which is engraved with his imperial poems, including lines such as ‘The continuous fire of the native village’s clusters of temples, the frozen river still retains the style of sinking hooks.’Han Hou Fishing Platform
