Sanwan Village, known as the ‘First Village of the Red Journey in China’, is located on the southwest side of Yongxin County, surrounded by lush green mountains. In September 1927, after the Autumn Harvest Uprising troops arrived here, a reorganization of the troops took place, which is famously known in the history of the Party and the military as the ‘Sanwan Reorganization’. It is the birthplace of the ideology of ‘the Party commands the gun’ and an important part of the Jinggangshan revolutionary base. The Sanwan Scenic Area is situated in Sanwan Township, Yongxin County, 37 kilometers away from the county town. From September 29th to October 3rd, the Autumn Harvest Uprising troops carried out the world-renowned ‘Sanwan Reorganization’ here. This marked the beginning of the political work of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army, establishing the Party’s firm leadership over the troops and laying a solid foundation for the construction of a new type of people’s army in terms of organization, politics, and ideology. The scenic area includes a visitor center, the Sanwan Reorganization Memorial Hall, revolutionary sites and former residences, a revolutionary martyrs’ monument, and the Red Army Trail. It is open all year round from 09:00 to 17:00.
