Tai’erzhuang Canal is located in Zaozhuang, Shandong Province. Known as the ‘living canal’, it was left behind when the Tai’erzhuang section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal was rerouted outside the city in 1959, with a total length of 3 kilometers. Due to the well-preserved ancient streets and the rich atmosphere of life, it truly gives a feeling of returning to the Ming and Qing dynasties. The World Tourism Organization has named it the ‘only remaining’ Qing Dynasty cultural heritage of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is open all year round and available 24 hours a day.
