The Huaihai Campaign Chenguanzhuang Memorial Hall is located in the south of Chenguanzhuang Village, Yongcheng, on the north side of National Highway 311. It was built to commemorate the martyrs who sacrificed in the annihilation battle in the Chenguanzhuang area in the third stage of the Huaihai Campaign. In 1963, the people of Yongcheng built the ‘Chenguanzhuang Huaihai Campaign Martyrs Cemetery’ here. Later, the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall and the martyrs’ deeds exhibition hall were built. The martyrs cemetery faces south and covers an area of more than 200 mu. There are eight large iron characters of ‘Huaihai Campaign Martyrs Cemetery’ embedded on the upper end of the gate. On the west side is ‘Eternal Heroic Spirit’, and on the east side is ‘Eternal Noble Spirit’. The cemetery is full of green pines and cypresses, shady with trees, with coordinated layout and solemn and solemn atmosphere. In the middle of the cemetery is a granite martyrs’ monument, 25 meters high, with eight large characters of ‘Huaihai Heroes Last Forever’. Behind the monument is a circular cemetery. At the four corners of the cemetery are 15 martyr hero deeds stele pavilions. In front of both sides of the stele pavilion are word screens of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries. Behind the cemetery are 651 martyr tombs neatly arranged. In front of each martyr’s monument tomb is a white marble stele, engraved with the martyr’s name, native place and life story. On the east and west sides behind the monument are the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall and the martyrs’ deeds exhibition hall respectively, both of which are patio-style buildings in national style. The memorial hall exhibits more than 400 pieces of cultural relics, historical photos and other items, vividly presenting the situation of the organization and command of the Huaihai Campaign. The martyrs’ deeds exhibition hall displays the portraits, relics and deeds of 45 PLA commanders and fighters, party and government cadres, and militia and civilian workers who bravely fought and sacrificed heroically in the campaign.


Opening hours: Closed all day on Monday throughout the year; Open from 09:00 to 17:00 from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year; Open from 09:00 to 17:00 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Tomb-sweeping Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day.
