Badachu Park is located next to Xishan Forest Park. ‘Badachu’ refers to the eight Buddhist temples in the park. With a long history and strong incense, it has been a famous place for worshipping Buddha and praying for blessings in the suburbs of Beijing since ancient times. There are also many ginkgo trees, maples, etc. on the mountain. In autumn, the yellow and red leaves are very beautiful. In spring (March to April), thousands of apricot blossoms bloom under Hutou Peak, just like falling snow.

It is very good to come here for walking, viewing the scenery, climbing mountains and worshipping Buddha. Reference for playing time and route: The mountains in Badachu Park are not high and there are all stepped roads. It takes about four to five kilometers to walk from the park entrance to the top of the mountain. It is suitable for mountain climbing and exercise. If you climb mountains specifically, it takes 2 to 3 hours.

If you worship Buddha and view the scenery along the way, it takes 4 to 6 hours or even longer. Generally, if you come to play from downtown Beijing, you need to prepare a whole day. If you have poor physical strength or are accompanied by the elderly and children, you can also choose the cableway and slideway in the scenic area. In particular, the slideway is very exciting from the top of the mountain and is especially suitable for taking children to experience.

Highlights of Badachu: The eight scenic spots in the park refer to Chang’an Temple at the first spot, Lingguang Temple at the second spot, Sanshan Nunnery at the third spot, Dabei Temple at the fourth spot, Longquan Nunnery at the fifth spot, Xiangjie Temple at the sixth spot, Baozhu Cave at the seventh spot and Zhengguo Temple at the eighth spot. Among them, except for Chang’an Temple at the first spot which is still closed, the other seven spots are open to tourists.

Lingguang Temple at the second spot was built in the Tang Dynasty. There is a Buddha’s tooth relic enshrined in the temple. There are only two such relics in the world, so it is very famous among Buddhist temples. Legends say it is also very effective. Therefore, Lingguang Temple is also a place where people concentrate on worshipping Buddha and praying for blessings in Badachu Park. The temples from the fourth spot to the seventh spot are mainly for scenery.

The sixth spot was also the imperial palace in those years. So the scenery is like a garden and very exquisite. The surrounding mountain scenery is also very beautiful. So when visiting, it is mainly for viewing the scenery. There are lush ancient ginkgo trees at the fourth spot, clear and beautiful Longquan at the fifth spot, magnificent and delicate buildings at the sixth spot, and the seventh spot is a good place to view the panoramic view of the capital city and watch the sunrise.

‘The Ninth Spot’: Moya Valley. In addition to the eight scenic spots, the recently discovered Moya Valley is called ‘the ninth spot’. There are many Buddha statues and Bodhisattva statues carved in the Ming Dynasty on the stone cliffs in the valley. They have been hidden in the mountains for hundreds of years and can be visited. There are also scenic spots such as glacial erratics. You can take a brief look when passing by.

In addition to many scenic spots, just coming here to view the mountain scenery and climb mountains for exercise are also good choices.
