Longtan National Forest Park is renowned for its majestic and perilous mountain peaks, deep gorges, and a gorge waterfall with a drop of over 200 meters. The park boasts lush vegetation and a rich biodiversity, including playful and adorable monkeys, adding an element of charm to the visit. It also served as one of the main filming locations for the TV drama ‘Taiping Heavenly Kingdom’.
The park’s vast area spans over ten kilometers from the entrance to the core scenic area of Longtan. Along the way, visitors can enjoy distant views of the Datun Gorge, Xunjiang Plain, and the canyon forest scenery of Longtan. Visitors can either drive themselves or take the park’s transportation.

On the way from the entrance to Longtan Villa, there are two excellent spots for sightseeing, the Four Kilometer Viewing Pavilion and the Dragon Overlook Pavilion, where the bus will stop for tourists to enjoy the scenery. Longtan Villa features a restaurant and guesthouse where visitors can taste local delicacies such as bamboo shoots.

Continuing from the villa, passing the Longtan Archway leads to the main scenic area of Longtan. Following the plank road to the Waterfall Observation Platform, visitors can admire the spectacular view of Longtan Waterfall and the uniquely square-shaped rock formations surrounding the Longtan Gorge. After viewing the waterfall, visitors can head up the mountain to a fork in the road; one path leads to a trail along the stream for viewing Longtan Creek Valley, and the other leads to the Wind-Attracting Pavilion for hiking, allowing visitors to choose according to their preferences.

Every summer, the park also offers Longtan Grand Canyon rafting, providing an exhilarating experience of speed and nature in the deep creek valley. The park is open year-round from 08:00 to 17:30.
