The Yao Emperor is one of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, who initiated the splendid and glorious ancient civilization of mankind, and has become a symbol of the diligence and wisdom of the Chinese nation, as well as a symbol of hardworking bravery and unyielding self-improvement. According to textual research, when the Yao Emperor was born, his mother was in the south of San’e. The ancient location of ‘San’e’ is now the Ta Ji Town in Jinhu County. As the birthplace of the Yao Emperor and the cradle of Yao culture, to commemorate this ancient great man and promote Yao culture, Jinhu has invested more than 30 million yuan in the main urban area to plan and construct the Yao Emperor Park, covering an area of 43,000 square meters. The park adheres to the planning concept of ‘eco-priority and Yao as the soul’, abstractly summarizing the life experiences of the Yao Emperor, with themes such as the creation of the calendar, the founding of the state, and the implementation of virtuous governance. Various landscape nodes are established, including the main entrance square area, the citizen activity area, and the water entertainment area. At the same time, the main entrance square’s memory corridor of Yao and the citizen activity space form the main landscape axis, mainly constructing the memory corridor of Yao, pottery forest, simple garden, outstanding governance platform, pre-admonition drum, talent-seeking garden, eighteen curved bridge, virtuous monarch pavilion, and inviting moon corridor. The eight major relief landscape walls in the park stand on both sides of the Yao Emperor statue, respectively titled ‘Feeling the Dragon Born Yao, Abdicating the Throne, Hou Yi Shooting the Sun, Appointing the Wise to Govern, Admonition Drum and Slander Wood, Xi He Calendar Making, Harmonizing All Nations, and Drilling Wells for the Benefit of the People’, narrating the development process of Yao Emperor culture.
