In history, the cultivation and appreciation of lotuses were prevalent in Yangzhou. To meet the demands of citizens and tourists for viewing lotuses in summer, the Slender West Lake Scenic Area holds the ‘Summer of Slender West Lake’ Lotus Festival from July 1st to August 31st every year. Nearly three hundred varieties and more than 1,200 pots of lotuses are arranged along the main tourist routes. The lotuses on land and in the lake in scenic areas such as Xichun Terrace, Xu Garden, Shuiyun Shenggai, Ou Xiang Bridge, and Jinquan Huayu open successively, presenting a charming sight. In addition, the lotus flower painting, calligraphy and photography exhibition and lotus-flavored snacks will also allow you to fully experience the charm of lotuses while enjoying the scenery and appreciating lotuses.
