Desheng Bridge is a small street running east to west for over a hundred meters. In the past, there was an unnamed small stone dry bridge on the eastern part of the street. It is said that during the Ming Dynasty, General Chang Yuchun, passing through this bridge from Huai Dong, named it ‘Desheng Bridge’ to celebrate his military achievements. To this day, the saying ‘riding to victory at the camp gate’ is still circulating here.
Today’s Desheng Bridge, in addition to being home to the famous Fuchun Teahouse, also produces the renowned ‘Three Knives’ of Yangzhou. Within a few dozen meters from the end of Desheng Bridge Lane, there are more than ten knife and scissors shops. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the day’s opening conditions.
