Yu Village, also known as Yu Zhuang, is a villa built by the modern calligrapher Yu Jue in 1934 in Yujia Village. The villa is simple yet elegant, with a view of the lake as soon as one opens the door, facing the distant Shangfang Mountain. After renovation in October 1986, it was officially opened to the public. It includes the Nongputang, Yuxue Slope, and Jinxiu Slope, which were built on the former site of the Shi Hu Villa.
Inside the main hall, Fushou Hall, there is a plaque with Empress Dowager Cixi’s ‘Imperial Edict of Praise’. To the south of the hall, a new Lake View Pavilion has been built by the lake, offering a panoramic view of Shi Hu and Shangfang Mountain. A newly added teahouse and fish pond provide visitors with a place to enjoy tea, fish, and rest. Open all year round from 8:00 to 16:30.Yu Village
