Located on Zhongchuan Road outside the ancient town of Tongli, the ‘Tongli Tianyuan Cultural Garden’ is a culture park themed around the game of Go, situated near the South Gate Visitor Center of Tongli Ancient Town. It is open for free visits.
Upon entering the antique-style courtyard, one can find a large chessboard with stone black and white pieces placed at the corners (known as the First Tianyuan Game) in the center of the yard. On the southern wall, there is a large brick carving depicting the ‘Tongli Tianyuan Fu’.
Inside the exhibition hall, visitors are greeted with a layout map of the main building of the cultural garden and the Nine Scenes of Tianyuan at the entrance. The garden is open from 08:15 to 17:15 all year round, with specific opening times subject to the day’s actual conditions.
