Lin Zexu strictly prosecuted opium traders and closed opium dens in the vicinity of Nanhao Street. He lit the fire to destroy opium in front of the Tieling Pass outside the Changmen Gate, marking an early record of his opium prohibition efforts. The site is open all year round and accessible 24 hours a day.
