Yu Mountain Lake is situated in the central part of Ma’anshan city, connected to the Yangtze River through Yu Shan River, with a water area of 1087 acres. It was developed into an urban park in 1959 and, together with the nearby Jia Mountain and Yu Mountain, forms the distinctive landscape of Ma’anshan city where mountains and waters complement each other. Yu Mountain Lake is known for its graceful and charming beauty, surrounded by nine peaks that stand in various distances around the lake, earning it the reputation of ‘Nine Peaks Encircle One Lake’.
The park, which was created because of the lake, boasts beautiful scenery and enchanting views. There are roads, trees, and buildings all around the lake. The area near the Hubei Road and Hongqi Bridge, which faces the lake, serves as an outdoor garden for visitors to appreciate the lake and mountain scenery. On the west side of the lake, there is the Fuyuan Trade Market, built along the lake with Ming and Qing dynasty architectural styles, and a green recreational area covering nearly 20,000 square meters. On the south side of the lake, there is a willow bank and flower embankment with nearly 10,000 square meters of tourist area where the sky and water blend into one, making it an ideal place for people to relax and rest.
