Yijiang Gate, constructed in 1913, is located at the northwest section of the city wall near the Drum Tower. It served as a crucial passage connecting the city of Nanjing with Xiaguan Dock in ancient times. In 1921, it was named Hailing Gate, and in 1928, it was renamed Yijiang Gate and later expanded to three arches. During the Japanese invasion, this area witnessed inhumane massacres, and the Red Cross later collected the remains of the victims and buried them here. A memorial site now stands within Xiuqiu Park. In 1949, following the victory of the crossing of the Yangtze River, the city of Nanjing was entered through Yijiang Gate. In 1984, it was converted into the Crossing the Yangtze Victory Memorial Hall. In April 2009, the Crossing the Yangtze Victory Memorial Hall was rebuilt at a new location. The opening hours and business status are subject to the actual conditions on the day.
