The film museum is renovated from the former site of Nanjing Capital Grand Theatre and has three floors. There are slide projectors, movie projectors, camera display areas, the display area of ‘Light and Shadow’s Original Aspiration’ (slide projectors and movie projectors of different countries and different models in the exploration process of movie invention), the display area of early heavy-duty movie projectors, film projection halls and multimedia projection halls. Among them, the exhibition hall of ‘Light and Shadow’s Original Aspiration’ contains the restoration room of the early projection room. The exhibition hall of ‘Foundation of Light and Shadow’ (movie projectors from various countries such as Pathé, Gaumont, and Zeiss after the popularity of movies after 1895), the stereoscope interaction area, and the horse racing interaction area. The exhibition hall of ‘Light and Shadow Entering China’ (domestic movie projectors, slide projectors, film reels, movie-related magazines, domestic movie machinery factories and the current situation of old cinemas in Nanjing).
