Wawu Mountain is about 40 kilometers away from Liyang and borders Jurong. Due to the low degree of tourism development, most of the original features of the forest are retained. There is also a Baozang Temple on the top of the mountain, attracting some tourists who like to explore secluded places. Moreover, because the transportation is not very convenient, the main visitors are self-driving tourists.

According to historical records, Wawu Mountain has a close relationship with Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui in religious history, so it is called Little Jiuhua. In the fifth year of Tianbao in the Tang Dynasty (746 AD), Monk Daoming, the second disciple of Ksitigarbha in Jiuhua Mountain, built Baozang Temple on Wawu Mountain. At that time, there were nearly a hundred monks in the temple. Until 1937, the temple was looted and destroyed.

Today’s temple has been built by believers and pilgrims raising huge sums of money since 1994. In addition, there are projects such as picking, barbecue, and farmhouse entertainment around Lita Village at the foot of the mountain. These can be arranged together with mountain climbing activities for a one-day tour.

Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year.
