The governor-general of Liangjiang in the Qing Dynasty, Duan Fang, once visited Europe and was influenced by Western ideological trends. In 1909, while in office as the governor-general, he began to build this building in the style of French Renaissance. Before its completion, he was ordered by the Qing court to go to Sichuan to suppress the revolutionary party. The building was completed in 1910, during the tenure of the newly appointed governor-general (also the last governor-general), Zhang Renjun. As it is located in the West Garden on the west side of the governor-general’s office, it is also known as the ‘West Flower Hall’. Opening hours: Open from 08:30 to 17:00 all year round. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on the day.
