Qingliang Gate, one of the thirteen city gates of the Ming Dynasty’s inner city of Nanjing, is located in the west of Nanjing city. It is now a national key cultural relics protection unit, named after the Liangshan Mountain where it is situated. The gate is composed of a city gate and an elliptical enceinte, with the original watchtower no longer in existence, but the rest remains well-preserved. On August 8, 2014, the Nanjing City Wall was fully connected, and visitors can freely access the wall section from Qingliang Gate to the National Defense Park for observation. It is open all year round, and accessible 24/7.
