Shigu Road Catholic Church, located at No. 110 Shigu Road, Nanjing, is a quintessential Catholic church building, constructed in the ninth year of the Tongzhi Emperor’s reign (1870 AD). During the Northern Expedition War, the church suffered severe damage. In 1928, the Nationalist Government allocated funds for its reconstruction. Since the 1930s, it has been the cathedral of the Catholic Diocese of Nanjing. The building features a substantial exterior and a simple form. The plan follows the orthodox Latin cross shape, characteristic of early European monastic architecture. The structure employs four-part vaults, arched ribs, and bundled columns, making it the only remaining Romanesque architecture in Nanjing. The opening hours and business status are subject to the daily opening conditions.
