The Nanjing Anti-Japanese Aviation Martyrs Memorial Hall (hereinafter referred to as the memorial hall) is located at the northern foot of Purple Mountain in Nanjing. It integrates a ‘cemetery’, an ‘anti-Japanese monument’, and a’memorial hall’. It is the first and also an international anti-Japanese aviation martyrs memorial hall in China. It has become an important commemorative place for the Chinese nation and people all over the world to fight side by side and jointly oppose fascist aggression.
It has also become an important place for patriotism and internationalism education. On September 1, 2014, a notice was issued announcing a list of 80 memorial facilities and sites for the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. The Nanjing Anti-Japanese Aviation Martyrs Memorial Hall is on the list. Its completion has expanded Nanjing’s international influence and become a bridge and bond for international friendly exchanges and connecting the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
