The Jiangnan Examination Hall covers an area of 1300 square meters. The examination hall ruins include Mingyuan Tower, Zhigong Hall, examination cells, and the Kuiguang Pavilion in the South Garden, as well as the Cuiyuan Corridor and other cultural relics related to the imperial examination. It mainly displays imperial examination folk customs, examination supplies, life in examination cells, and the vicissitudes exhibition of Mingyuan Tower.
There is a ‘Special Exhibition on Imperial Examination Culture’ on the basement floor. Through a large number of exhibits, it tells the audience about the imperial examination history, examination procedures, and famous imperial examination figures in ancient China.
Opening hours: Open from 09:00 to 17:00 all year round.
