The explored length of Huayang Cave is more than 5,000 meters. Currently, the length available for sightseeing is 1,600 meters. The entire cave group is divided into the front cave, back cave, sky cave, and ground cave. There are caves within caves, all interconnected. There is a river in the cave, and one can go boating on the river. The scenery changes with every step, presenting a magical and illusory sight.
In April 1054, Wang Anshi, a litterateur, thinker, statesman, and reformer in the Northern Song Dynasty, visited this mountain and wrote the eternal masterpiece ‘Record of a Trip to Baochanshan’, which vividly showcases the four major characteristics of Huayang Cave: perilous, strange, beautiful, and unique. Over the generations, literati and refined scholars have splashed ink on the cave walls and engraved on the rocks. In 2001, the cliff inscriptions in Huayang Cave were listed as key cultural relics protection objects in Anhui Province. In Huayang Cave of Baochanshan, stalactites hang upside down and there are jagged rocks everywhere.
Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:30 to 17:30.
