Guangfu Temple and Huangshan Pagoda are located atop Xiaohuang Mountain in the northern part of Dangtu County. The pagoda was originally constructed during the Liu Song period of the Southern Dynasties, under the imperial command of Emperor Wu of Liu Song, as a retreat for summer escape and Buddhist studies. The Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai and the Southern Song Dynasty patriotic poet Lu You once visited and inscribed poems here.
Huangshan Pagoda features an outer structure of five layers and an inner structure of nine, with eight-sided tower gates and a hollow brick and wood structure. The pagoda tapers from a broader base to a sharper top, with each level gradually narrowing. The eaves of the pagoda protrude, constructed with bricks to imitate wooden bracket sets. The pagoda has withstood the test of time, now leaning due to erosion, and has been preserved through successive restorations and reconstructions from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, allowing this thousand-year-old tower to regain its former grandeur. It is open all year round, with full-day access.Guangfu Temple and Huangshan Pagoda
