The term ‘di’ in the dictionary refers to an arrow, or more specifically, the head of an arrow. As the name suggests, the Arrow Tower is a type of arrow tower, constructed with wooden structures capable of withstanding arrows and also serving as a vantage point for observation. The Arrow Tower on Zhonghua Gate is a symmetrically laid out building along the central axis of the castle. It is said that the Arrow Tower collapsed during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty and was rebuilt, only to be destroyed again. Since then, what has been displayed at Zhonghua Gate is a flat upper part without walls, turning into a vast platform. The site is open all year round, available for visits 24 hours a day.
