Qiming Temple in Xiamen is located at the foot of Longrui Mountain in Zengcuo’an. Legend has it that Qiming Temple was a tutelary god temple in the Ming Dynasty, known as “Donggong”. Later, it was changed into a lotus dojo and renamed “Qiming Hall”. Soon after, it was called a temple again. After going through many vicissitudes, the current temple covers an area of 16,000 square meters. The Tianwang Hall is under construction at the entrance.
In the future, there will be statues of Maitreya Buddha and the Four Heavenly Kings here. Qiming Temple has now completed the Daxiong Baodian (Great Hero Hall) and the Amitabha Hall. Next to the Daxiong Baodian is the earliest Avalokitesvara Hall in the temple. The Daxiong Baodian has enshrined Sakyamuni Buddha and the Three Treasures Buddhas (Sakyamuni Buddha, Bhaisajyaguru Buddha and Amitabha Buddha). In the Amitabha Hall behind the Daxiong Baodian, there is a tall standing bronze statue of Amitabha Buddha, which is 21 meters high and is the largest indoor bronze statue in China. The opening hours are from 07:00 to 17:00 throughout the year. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on the day.Xiamen Qiming Temple Introduction
