Mingyue Zen Temple is located within the Diaobingshan Scenic Area, surrounded by mountains on all sides, presenting a beautiful landscape and magnificent, resplendent architectural scale. It stands as one of the larger Buddhist sacred sites in Northeast China. The temple complex comprises a mountain gate, Heavenly Kings Hall, Grand Hall of Great Hero, rear hall, monks’ quarters, north and south side halls, bell and drum towers, a festooned gate, and a well.
The mountain gate and main halls are adorned with white marble railings. In front of the temple lies a spacious release pond, crossed by three arched bridges. The temple grounds are lush with trees, with verdant pines and cypresses conveying an air of solemnity and tranquility. In 2014, under the fundraising efforts of the abbot, the eminent monk Chang Jing, an octagonal, double-eaved, exquisite nine-story Ten Thousand Buddha Pagoda was constructed over a period of three years. Inside, ten thousand solemn and dignified statues of Sakyamuni Buddha are enshrined, hence the name Ten Thousand Buddha Pagoda. The pagoda stands 71 meters in height with nine stories, enshrining and preserving Buddha bone relics, ten thousand Buddha statues, and Mahayana scriptures. Opening hours: open year-round from 8:00 to 17:00. Preferential policies: 1.
