Shi Lang Memorial Hall: A Tribute to a Heroic General and Statesman

The Shi Lang Memorial Hall is located in the Si Shi Da Zong Ancestral Hall in Yao Kou Village, Longhu Town, Jinjiang, Quanzhou. It showcases the life and the glorious achievements of Shi Lang, a Qing Dynasty general who unified the country, through documentary materials, charts, and physical displays. The exhibition area spans 400 square meters. The Si Shi Ancestral Hall, reconstructed by Shi Lang in 1687, features a three-stage, five-opening layout with a hard mountain top, and is constructed with brick, stone, and wood, embodying the typical architectural style of southern Fujian. It is now a cultural heritage site under the protection of Fujian Province.
Established in 1986, the Shi Lang Memorial Hall is situated within the provincial cultural heritage site of Yao Kou Si Shi Da Zong Ancestral Hall, under the jurisdiction of the Jinjiang City Museum. The new hall will be relocated to the refurbished Jing Hai Hou Mansion, redesigned, and re-equipped with physical objects, and re-organized for display. The central hall houses a stone statue of General Shi Lang, while the side rooms to the third main hall are arranged with physical objects, images, texts, and audio-visual materials to showcase Shi Lang’s military and political life and his historical contributions. Over the past decade, it has welcomed hundreds of thousands of experts and tourists from around the world.
