Guihu Park in Quanzhou, Fujian

Guihu Park was originally Guihu Pond, which was one of the main farmland water conservancy facilities in ancient Quanzhou. It was dug by Cai Xiang, the prefect of Quanzhou, during the Jiayou period of the Northern Song Dynasty (1058 – 1060 AD). According to the records in “The Rules of Jinjiang Guihu Pond”, this pond, together with Yantang, Shatang, Furongtang, Futian Pond, Guzhai Pond, and Longtang, is collectively called the “Seven Chief Ponds”.
Shishi Guihu Park was built in November 2001 and gets its name from being located at the original site of Guihu Pond. It is simply called “Guihu Park”. The total area of the park is 250 mu, of which the lake area is 56 mu (divided into East Lake, Middle Lake, and West Lake). The main scenic spots include: Music Fountain Square, Yacht Club, and Fitness and Recreation Area.

There are also leisure pavilions, Xiaoyao Terrace, Music Stage, Pebble Beach, (Huixin Island), Stone Arch Bridge, Zigzag Bridge and other scenic spots in the park. Green lawns, lush banyan trees and strong pine trees, tree-lined paths, vertical foreign-style bridges, the beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains, and dynamic music make the park filled with charming views everywhere. It has become a good place for people to entertain, relax and work out.
