Dongxi Grand Canyon is located within Chengxiang Township and is the source of the Dongxi River, the mother river of Quanzhou City.
The canyon is 3,800 meters long. With high mountains, clear waters, towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls, numerous strange rocks and lush trees, it presents a distinctive canyon landscape in southern Fujian.
The landscape here is unique, featuring waterfalls and strange rocks. At the end of the canyon, the Bailong Waterfall has a drop of 70 meters. The water from the snow-capped mountains rushes down, showing a magnificent momentum. Flowing downstream, it forms a group of waterfalls such as the Sandie Spring, Fushou Spring and Qin Spring. Some are winding, some are gentle, and some are pounding the shore, which is really amazing.
Inside the valley, a 100-meter-high cliff rises straight from the ground and towers into the clouds. Strange rocks and caves are scattered everywhere. There are scenes like Carp Jumping over the Dragon Gate, Avalokitesvara’s Seat, Novice Monk Listening to the Sutra, Fairy Bridge, Fairy Gate, etc. What is most amazing is the numerous tortoise-shaped rocks. There are 99 of them, lying, standing, walking or raising their heads, making it truly the “World Tortoise Valley”.
Opening hours: It is open from 07:30 to 17:00 throughout the year.
